Recent Update

Dave has teamed up with Jeremy Tomlinson at his studio in North Hollywood. They’re composing, recording and performing music for various applications.

The video on the left features the bass extraordinaire Abraham Laboriel! He jammed with a group of guys at the Line 6 summer picnic - he’s amazing!!

The video on the right is from a gig that Dave played for a fantastic fundraiser at the Bear Creek Library in Houston Texas.

Dave has a Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Classical Guitar from Shenandoah Conservatory, a Masters Degree in Jazz and Commercial Music from Towson University, a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from St. Mary’s College of MD, and he is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass.


     Dave relocated from the Washington DC area to Thousand Oaks, CA in 2006. Since moving to Los Angeles he has toured as a pit musician with a production of the "Little Shop of Horrors," as well as three national tours as an onstage guitarist with the holiday show "Jingle Bell Rock."

     Dave is currently teaching guitar lessons at Line 6 and  performing with the Line 6 Dream Rig Collection which consists of the POD HD 500, the James Tyler Variax Guitar, the DT50 Head and a stack of two 4x12 cabinets. He composed a song for the Line 6 “Rock Legend” Awards Ceremony. You can hear a short clip of that song on the music page of this web site. Dave also performed acoustic and electric guitars in the show XANADU at Pepperdine University in the fall of 2011.

     Dave performed as a Solo Guitarist at the Kennedy Center and the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. He performed at the hotel five nights a week for three years. Dave was also an adjunct faculty member at Shepherd University for five years where he taught courses and conducted ensembles for the Guitar, Theory and Music History Departments. He released four recordings including “Live At the Mayflower Hotel” and published a book that contains 10 original guitar compositions and he’s a an ASCAP Special Awards Winner for Composing, Performing and Recording.

     Dave has designed a lecture that he has presented titled “The Guitar - Renaissance to Rock.” He speaks about the history of the guitar and performs on seven different instruments ranging from a Renaissance Guitar to the latest digital modeling guitars designed by Line 6.

Dave also composed music for a short comedy film titled “The Edge of the World.” where he improvised a Renaissance Guitar part for the opening scene. The film was screened at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival in 2011. Dave played Tenor Banjo and Guitar in a theatre production of Shenandoah in June 2012
